The International Piano Festival

A worldwide fame

The International Piano Festival of La Roque d’Anthéron was born in 1981 after the meeting of two men: Paul Onoratini and Rene Martin. In 1981, the first notes rose in the park of the Florans Castle. They were played by the most famous pianists: Martha Argerich, Krystian Zimmermann, Zoltan Kocsis…
From the first edition, with hardly 12 programmed concerts, the Festival gained it's letters of nobility. The press already had announced La Roque d’Anthéron as an unavoidable village for pianists and music lovers alike.

Our Lipizzaner horses

La Roque d’Anthéron is one of the unique places in France where you will be able to see a breeding ground of the famous Lipizzaner white horse.

Lipizzaner, who are you?

The Lipizzaner horse is renowned for its kindness. One can safely ride a Lipizzaner. It is very enduring, spontaneous, generous and frank. It is known universally, mainly through the Spanish school of Vienna where the traditions of horsemanship were preserved.

A particular breeding

Gerard and Christian Philip have always lived with horses and discovered Lipizzaners in 1982. Allured by this imperial horse, then very rare in France, they decide to develop their breeding , with 20 different mares and 5 stallions. Their farm is currently classified among larger european private breeding farms.
All their horses originate in the farm of Piber in Austria and are descendants or nearest relatives of the famous stallions of the Spanish school of Vienna.
